LONE WOLF NEWS 2008

A lot has happened for Lone Wolf fighters since the last time we updated our site, so lets get started. Roy and Jenn Babcock both made their pro debuts. Roy "The Enigma" Babcock won his first pro fight via triangle choke in Round 3 of an absolute war in Oklahoma. Jenn Babcock debuted as a pro as a part of a tournament put on by Bodog fights. Though she was stopped in the first round it proved to be a good learning experience. In early Febuary the Babcock family moved their training to New Mexico and are currently training under Greg Jackson. On April 3rd Jenn won her first pro fight on the Fatal Femmes show in L.A. She was able to take down Tammie Schneider and pound her into submission at 1:04 of Round 1. Kyle Carver captured the ISCF Central Regional Title with a hard fought victory over Trevon Ewing in early Febuary. Ewing came out swinging and was very close to finishing the fight, but Carver stayed calm and was able to get Ewing down and submit him as Round 1 came to an end. Adam White came up short in his first fight against Ben Hummel. White filled in as a last minute replacement and fought above his weight class. Adam showed incredible heart and looked very good landing punches on Hummel standing up. Hummel was just too strong and took White down with ease and was able to finish White in the second round with a rear naked choke. Chris Milne made his debut at a Blue Corner Event in Kansas City. Milne seemed unrattled by the big stage, and was able to take the fight to the ground and end it with a rear naked choke in Round 1. At Mid-MO-MMA Fight Show 7 Tyler Mejia made his return to the cage against Frank Salsberry. Both fighters came out fighting and that made for a very entertaining figt. It was a back and forth match with both fighters landing punches on their feet and on the ground. As round 3 came to a close Mejia was able to lock up a triangle choke, but Salsberry was able to elevate Mejia and drop him with a huge slam. Mejia was able to weather the storm and transition into a fight ending armbar. Later in the main event of the evening Kyle Carver took on Jose Vega for the ISCF United States title. Both fighters looked confident before the fight. Carver struck first peppering Vega with jabs and leg kicks. Then, Vega rushed Carver forcing him to shoot. Vega was able to stuff the takedown and lock on a front choke and hand Carver his first loss. Carver will look to rebound from that fight at the upcoming World Tournament in May. Matt Gragg will also make the trip to Cedar Rapids to enter the tournament, making his debut at 185 lbs. MMA action will also make its return to St. Joseph at Zero Tolerance 7 at the American Legion on April 26th. Several Lone Wolf fighters will be on the card including: Paul Sanchez, Jeff Huff, Adam white, Matt Price, and Chris Milne
